The Office of Global Engagement, Immigration Services, is required to charge certain internal fees. This website allows you to pay these fees online, with a credit card. The fees depend on your status/situation.

1. ISCF - International Scholar or Student-Intern Compliance Fees
The International Scholar Compliance Fees (ISCF) are assessed to international J-1 student-interns and scholars sponsored by UGA. (https://globalengagement.uga.edu/images/documents/immigration/information/ISCF_Amounts_Current_Year.pdf) There are two types of ISCF fees:

        Visiting Scholars

1a. If your program at UGA is funded primarily by UGA (meaning 50% or more of your total estimated costs as listed on your DS-2019 form), the fee is $175.00 per year.

1b. If your program at UGA is not funded primarily by UGA (meaning less than 50% of your total estimated costs as listed on your DS-2019 form), the fee is $291.00 per year.

        Student-Interns

1c. If your program at UGA is funded primarily by UGA (meaning 50% or more of your total estimated costs as listed on your DS-2019 form), the fee is $168.00 per year.

1d. If your program at UGA is not funded primarily by UGA (meaning less than 50% of your total estimated costs as listed on your DS-2019 form), the fee is $280.00 per year.

2. F-1 / J-1 student OPT/AT fee This fee is charged to UGA-sponsored F-1 or J-1 students who are applying for Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Academic Training(AT) endorsements from the Immigration Services office.

3. The change of category fee is required of J-1 Exchange Program participants who wish to request a Change of Category inside the U.S. This fee is $367.00, and while collected by Immigration Services, is required by, and paid to, the Department of State's Exchange Visitor Program.

4. J-1 STEM Initiative Sponsorship – initial review The J-1 STEM Initiative Sponsorship – initial review fee of $575 is required of sponsoring companies. This is a sponsorship for international scholars who are appointed to, or hired by, external affiliated STEM companies. 

5. J-1 STEM Initiative Sponsorship fee  The J-1 STEM Initiative Sponsorship – final payment fee of $1,150 is required of sponsoring companies. This is a sponsorship for international scholars who are appointed to, or hired by, external affiliated STEM companies. 

6. J-1 STEM Initiative Extension fee The J-1 STEM Extension fee of $575 is required of sponsoring companies seeking to extend the J sponsorship after the first year.
