From the introduction: "The overarching purpose of this manual is to help you control pests on rights-of-way (the most common and serious pests of rights-of-way are weeds so this manual concentrates on weed management, but the principles, techniques, and hardware apply to other potential pest problems) in a safe and effective way. Thus, this publication presents the material that you, as a commercial certified rights-of-way applicator, must master to be prepared for the Georgia Category 27 Rights-of-Way certification exam. In addition, you, as a right-of-way pest control applicator, may want to use this manual for periodic review, general reference, or as a basis for training unlicensed pesticide handlers who work under your direct supervision. It offers your administrators and supervisors information that will, if used to prepare a well-considered and planned vegetation management program, lead to safer and more effective use of pesticides for your company’s rights-of-way pest control and better employment of alternative pest control methods."
