Description: It is time to spotlight and celebrate the accomplishments of Georgia’s Region 4 PAGE STAR Students and Teachers at the annual Region 4 PAGE STAR Banquet. The University of Georgia Mary Frances Early College of Education is delighted to be the region sponsor of the banquet again this year.

The event will be held in the Magnolia Ballroom at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center in Athens on Thursday, March 13th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. For directions, visit http://www.georgiacenter.uga.edu/cch/location/driving-directions.

As a local PAGE STAR sponsor, your assistance and partnership with the coordination of attendance and dinner reservations is greatly appreciated. The local STAR sponsors customarily pay for the System STAR Student and System STAR Teacher, plus any of your organization’s attendees. The UGA Mary Frances Early College of Education, as a region host, will cover the cost of up to two (2) family members of the System STAR Student and one (1) ticket for the STAR Student’s principal or counselor if they wish to attend. The STAR Student, STAR Teacher and additional family members and guests will be the responsibility of the sponsor. We want this to be a special event for these highly talented students and their selected STAR teachers.

Registration Procedure: The Local Sponsor should complete the registration form on behalf of the STAR Student, STAR Teacher, and all guests attending the banquet. Enter the name of the STAR Student at the top of the registration form. Leave the quantity at 1. At the bottom of the form you will select all of the guests attending and the price should update accordingly. Be sure to select and enter the names of the guests paid for by the College of Education as well. If you have any questions about the process, don’t hesitate to email Melanie Baer at mbaer@uga.edu.

Costs:

STAR Student: $25 (this fee is paid for by the Local STAR Sponsor)

STAR Teacher: $25 (this fee is paid for by the Local STAR Sponsor)

Two Family Members of the STAR Student: We invite up to two family members of the STAR Student to attend as guests of the UGA Mary Frances Early College of Education. Please list their names and email addresses when prompted.

Principal or Counselor of the STAR Student: We invite the principal or counselor of the STAR Student to attend as guests of the UGA Mary Frances Early College of Education. Please list their names and email addresses when prompted.

Additional Guests: $25 (We invite additional any additional guests to attend the Region 4 PAGE STAR Banquet. The fee for additional guests is paid for by the Local STAR Sponsor)

Registration Deadline: March 10, 2025

Cancellation and Refund Policy: All cancellations must be submitted via email to mbaer@uga.edu. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Payment Information

Paying by check: If you choose to pay by check by submitting a purchase order, the amount due will adjust to $0.00 because you haven't actually paid anything yet. We will send an official invoice by email showing the amount due and the address to mail payment so that you can submit for payment. Checks should be made payable to “UGA”.

Invoice procedure for everyone paying by check: Invoices will be sent a few days after the registration is confirmed. When you successfully complete the registration process, you will receive two emails from Melanie Baer (mbaer@uga.edu). One to let you know the registration has been received and a second when it is confirmed. A few days later, you will receive an email from Julie Davis (julidavi@uga.edu) including a copy of the official invoice and the payment address. Please don’t remit payment until you receive the email from Julie Davis as sometimes checks are sent to the wrong UGA office by mistake. This process often takes up to 5 business days to complete.

Paying by credit card: Credit cards sometimes aren’t processed until a few days after you submit the registration in Marketplace. Please make sure the card number is correct, the billing zip code matches the billing address for the card and the card isn’t expired, or expiring in the next few days. If the credit card doesn’t go through for some reason, you will have to re-submit the registration.
