Agroforestry and Wildlife Field Day (AWFD)
The Agroforestry and Wildlife Field Day (AWFD) has something for everyone- whether you're a forest landowner or a wildlife enthusiast. The field day program focuses on the growing trend of landowners using their land to maximize all aspects of the natural environment. This includes growing trees and crops together while allowing wildlife to flourish on the same property. Forest landowners will benefit from an array of topics including forest road construction, cost share assistance, selling and marketing timber, pinestraw production, prescribed burning, and much more. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy sessions on managing wild turkeys, bobwhite quail habitats, nuisance wildlife, wildlife openings, and water fowl. Landowners with wetlands will benefit from sessions on wetland and pond management, stream crossings, and stream stabilization.
